About Us
BioVital is a biotechnology company that has developed solutions for cleaner emissions, reducing fat, phosphorus, and nitrogen in water and wastewater. Our products stimulate microbial activity in water in a natural way, without adding new bacteria or enzymes. Our results are better water quality, reduction of smell, and reduced operating costs for both private and public customers.
We work with private and public customers throughout Norway, and we deliver solutions that can scale from small local projects to larger industrial processes.
Historical Products
BioVital’s Product family was originally developed to hasten the decomposition of crude oil, especially after oil spills in the Persian Gulf, as well as along the Norwegian coast. Our product was delivered to the Norwegian coast guard and to other clients who wished to reduce the scope and consequences of an oil spill, saving the local ecology.
Furthemore, BioVital’s family of products have been used in small wastewater treatment sites, ones situated in mountain areas and areas that aren’t connected to the municipal wastewater system. In these areas, our product has been used to increase the biological capability and improve the cleaning capacity of these treatment facilities to succesfully handle the annual sewage load. From this experience, our products have provided consistent operation and ensure that the effluent from these plants remains well within the effluent requirements, even under demanding conditions such as reduced temperatures and large seasonal variations in inflow.

SDG6: Clean Water and Sanitation – by improving cleaning and reducing industrial discharge to rivers, lakes, fjords, and Oceans.
SDG12: Responsible Consumption and Production – by replacing chemical processes with natural biological processes
SDG14: Life Below Water – by combating eutrophication and protecting marine ecosystems against phosphorus and nitrogen pollution.
Our goal is to contribute to a more circular and sustainable water management system, where nature’s own processes can be relied on to fix man-made problems.

We combine operational experience with research-based knowledge, and work closely with our customers to find solutions that deliver measurable results.
